PBA Trade Rumors: A team is planning a major roster revamp

The #1 source of PBA rumors kept firing yesterday when he posted in the social media that a team was planning to do a full revamp of their roster.

According to the post, the team is intending to keep only around four to five players.

The reconstruction of the roster will happen gradually, so do not expect a lot of trades from that team in the next few weeks.

Our job today is to analyze who that team is.

The four remaining teams in the semifinals are out of the consideration because it is not logical for them to think about a revamp when they are still fighting for the championship.

Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel has the 2nd best roster in the league and they have succeeded with it in the past so it is dumb for them to have a roster rebuild.

Blackwater Elite and NLEX Road Warriors basically shook up their line-ups in the offseason. So, I do not think they intend to do it again just after a conference.

And of course, Columbian Dyip doesn't have the right to do a rebuild knowing that they haven't built a good team up to this point.

So, we are down to four possibilities; TNT Ka Tropa, Alaska Aces, Meralco Bolts and North Port Batang Pier.

Alaska is the worst candidate because of their history of consistency but knowing their sustained inability to win a championship, doing a full rebuild should be an option.

North Port Batang Pier is building a pretty good in-prime core but they can decide to shake the line-up and create something that they much prefer.

Meralco Bolts is an obvious option because of their inconsistency and obvious flaw in their rotation.

But I think the #1 possibility is TNT. TNT is the flagship team of MVP and after another disappointing conference, MVP may further push the management of TNT to give him a roster that is on the level of at least, Ginebra.

I am pretty sure we will find out the team that in the rumor pretty soon when the trade season finally starts in the PBA universe.
