PBA Trade: Which teams should call Meralco and make a trade offer?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Now that Bobby Ray Parks Jr. has signed a one-year contract to play for Blackwater Elite, the light is dimming on the dream trade for Parks of Meralco.

Thus, who are the teams that should take advantage of the dire situation of Meralco and trade for their guards?

Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel
Ginebra is one of the few teams that badly need guard depth. Other than LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson, he is still hard to trust his three-point shooting, no other guards can shoot from deep, efficiently.

Thus, adding at least one guard who can do it will be an upgrade. Two good possibilities are Mike Tolomia and Nard Pinto. Both exhibited their outside shooting prowess last Governors' Cup, with Tolomia knocking down 38% and Pinto connected on 65%.

With them being engraved deep into the bench of Meralco, I do not think the Bolts can ask that much for them. Both can easily be a much better version of Bernabe Teodoro and Mark Caguioa.

If Mark can get 8.9 minutes, why not Tolomia or Pinto?

Maybe two 2nd round picks is more than enough for one of them.

TNT Ka Tropa
Due to old age, TNT may need to inject some young blood in their backcourt rotation. Two of their main three guards, Ryan Reyes and Jayson Castro, are above 31 years old. They are basically looking for a future partner of Brian Heruela, who is playing like a starting caliber point guard.

So, it will be well and good for them if they can manage to still get Baser Amer out of Meralco. If Parks is out of the realms of possibility, they may need to be creative in coming up with a trade. They may need to find a team that is willing to give up a quality bigman to Meralco Bolts.
