PBA News: TNT signed a legit NBA player

When we throw the "NBA player" level to the different imports that were being signed to play in the PBA, it was more of an aesthetic thing because most of them do not even have 30 NBA games under their belt.

A legit NBA player is different. They are the ones who have more than 100 NBA games under their belts.

And at this conference, TNT just showed that they are not here to play games by signing a legit NBA player in Terrence Jones.

Terrence Jones was the 18th pick of the 2012 draft, which was headlined by Anthony Davis. Terrence was drafted above Evan Fournier, Draymond Green and Khris Middleton.

He has played for three NBA teams, Houston, New Orleans and Milwaukee. He actually played two games in this current season.

In the 2018 season of the Chinese Basketball Association, he produced 22.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 2.3 blocks and 46.1% FG per game.

What he showed in that season was the willingness to shoot more from beyond the arc which should be a great fit for TNT who loves to shoot as many threes as possible.

Offensively, Terrence will help TNT a lot. He is a pure inside operator in his time in the NBA, taking 74.8% of his shots within 10 feet.

With his athleticism and length, 7'2 wingspan, Terrence will be a great find inside the shaded lane. He can also play a fast pace with his motor.

The defense is a huge question for him in the NBA but with his length, motor and experience, I do not think that will be much of a problem in the PBA.

The biggest risk of him is his health. In the seven seasons that he played in the number 1 basketball league of the world, he only managed one season of more than 60 games played.

If he can avoid the injury bug, TNT will have the talent to overcome even the deepest teams.
