Which PBA team should trade for Brian Heruela?

Even though the trade rumor mill about TNT has been silent for a few weeks now, we are still anticipating player movements before the start of the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Today, let us turn our focus on the best player that they have rumored to put on the trade block.

Brian Heruela was a revelation in his first season in the PBA under the banner of the Blackwater Elite. He was soon forgotten once he rode the bench of the very deep San Miguel Beermen.

His first conference with TNT though showed the promise that we once saw with him. He averaged 7.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 20 minutes per game.

So, which teams should ask for him?

BRGY. GINEBRA
Even with their surprised quarterfinals exit, Ginebra management did not heed the call for some line-up changes as of today. Maybe, that is due to the fact that their Superman is coming to carry them to the promised land, Justin Brownlee.

Nevertheless, Heruela doesn't have a big-time value. Which means their starters are not needed to facilitate a trade. So their chemistry will not be damaged by acquiring him. With their short guard rotation, they may need a Heruela who is a big guard, who can make plays and most importantly, who can shoot.

PHOENIX
Another intriguing possibility is the surprised 2019 Philippine Cup semifinalist, Fuel Masters. With a point guard rotation of LA Revilla, Alex Mallari and RJ Jazul, Phoenix can upgrade it. What Brian will bring to the table is a bigger body to throw to bigger floor generals in the PBA. His size plus skill may also prove to be a good fit for the super-active style of the Fuel Masters.
