2019 PBA Com. Cup: The Top 4 Free Agents

(c) PBA Media Bureau

After what Jared Dillinger did, this is a good time to check out the available players that are currently free to sign with any team.

If you are not familiar with what happened to Jared, let me explain. The Meralco Bolts sent him to Unrestricted Free Agency with a gentleman's agreement that he will at least tell Meralco about any interest from other teams. Jared did not do that and signed with Ginebra, and that was legal and he has all the rights to do it.

So, let me give you the five biggest free-agent names today!

Larry Fonacier
The struggles of Larry Fonacier this season has caught up with him as NLEX relegated him to the free agency. This conference, he only has two three-point connections in 64 total minutes of play. The good thing is Fonacier can still make plays for others and still a pretty good defender.

Mark Tallo
To give room for Emman Monfort, NLEX has also relegated Mark into free agency. Mark is a big guard, body wise, who resembles the playing style of a Willie Miller. He can shoot, as shown by his 32% 3FG last conference, and his playmaking is not that bad.

RR Garcia
I think the biggest name that is available right now is RR Garcia. Just like Jericho Cruz, TNT asked RR to stop attending practices already and has sent him to free agency. It seems like the other 11 teams are worried about his statistical production in the last few seasons which did not resemble a PBA caliber guard.

Mark Yee
Remember Mark Yee? He was a lynchpin of the Columbian Dyip franchise until he transferred to Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. In the 2019 season of MPBL, he ended up as the bridesmaid for the Most Valuable Player award after producing 18.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. If you have forgotten, Yee is a scrappy player who defends pretty well with a good scoring touch.
