2019 Com. Cup Best Player of the Conference Ranking 2.0: The Rise of a New King?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

We have passed the half way mark of this conference. The imports are as powerful as ever but there are also local players who have been important in carrying their teams to victory.

Who are the five best candidates for the 2019 Best Player of the Conference - Commissioner's Cup? Will we see the familiar names of Stanley Pringle and Junemar Fajardo?

Let us see.

#5 Paul Lee (New!)
Paul has led his team to a five straight victory that has catapulted his team to third place. He has been a versatile star player for his team. In four of their victories, he hit the most three-pointers. He was once the top scorer and in two of them, he was the top assist man.

#4 Sean Anthony (New!)
Now that Stanley Pringle has departed into another team, Northport has become a team of very good players. Leading the charge is the most underrated player in the league, Sean Anthony. Anthony averaged 16.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 39% FG per game.

#3 Matthew Wright (New!)
Without the Beast at his side, Wright carried more burden for his team. He is currently the third best local scorer with 21.4 points per game. As usual, he is a volume scorer and shooter, averaging 2.6 three-point makes per game. He is not only the top scorer of his team but also their best playmaker as he averaged 5.1 assists per game.

#2 RR Pogoy (#4 in the Last Ranking)
After his 10 three-pointers eruption against Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel, Pogoy has not slowed down. He is leading the league with 3.6 three-pointer makes per game with an elite mark of 41%. RR has developed himself into one of the best 3-and-D players in the league. His defense is phenomenal as exhibited by his 2.9 steals per game, #1 in the league.

#1 Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (#1 in the Last Ranking)
The wait for Ray Parks was worth it. He has catapulted himself as the best contender to end the MVP streak of Junemar Fajardo. This conference, he is the top local scorer and the seventh best scorer overall. Even in a conference with imports, it is pretty obvious that Parks is one of the 12 best players in the league.
