(c) PBA Media Bureau

Remember, that we are already in the 2nd conference of our 2019 season. In this article, I will name the three players who regressed this Commissioner's Cup from the Philippine Cup, in terms of their production.

CHRISTIAN STANDHARDINGER
Standhardinger was fine in the 2019 Philippine Cup. He produced 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 52% FG per game. This Commissioner's Cup, he was underwhelming. He averaged 7.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.2 assist and 54% FG per game.

Yes, his minutes was lower by 9.2 minutes. Even if you double his current production, you will still end up with 14.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.4 assist. Rebound was the only one that improved.

CARL BRYAN CRUZ
Last conference was the breakout of CBC. He manufactured 12.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 41% FG and 42% 3FG per game. He was actually the top scorer of Alaska and was easily their best shooter. During that conference, he was the best off-movement shooter which is vital in spacing the floor.

This conference though, he was back to being a role player. He is averaging 5.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.6 assist and 26% 3FG per game. The biggest disappointment is, of course, his efficiency from beyond the arc.

JAMES YAP
The PBA Universe was surprised last conference because Yap showcased his vintage form. He was hitting his shots in almost every area of the court and was exhibiting a different kind of moves. Yap averaged 14.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 40% FG and 40%3FG per game.

This conference was different. He produced 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 30% FG and 27% 3FG per game. Just like CBC, the sudden dropped of his efficiency is the biggest problem of James.
