Did Terrence Romeo changed because he is now with the Beermen?

Before the start of the season, the biggest controversy in the league revolved around Terrence Romeo. He was then traded to San Miguel Beermen, the most loaded team in the league. The franchise was confident that their success and the presence of a lot of star players will tame Terrence.

Joining the deepest line-up in the league means less opportunity with the ball and playing time.

So, what happened to Terrence in San Miguel?

Here are some numbers.

In 2019 Philippine Cup, Romeo averaged 15.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 45% FG, 31% 3FG and 12.4 FGA (Field-Goal Attempts) in 22 minutes per game.

In 2018 Philippine Cup, he manufactured 21.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 42% 3FG and 17.3 FGA in 30.9 minutes per game.

Even though SMB is much more loaded than TNT, they still managed to give him 22 minutes per game, meaning his playing time only decreased by 8.9 minutes.

Even his shot-taking nature was still alive in San Miguel with his 12.4 FGA. That is the fifth most in the team.

The next thing that I checked was his performances in the 2019 Philippine Cup finals. He averaged 11.1 points, 2.9 assists, 11.4 FGA and 30% FG in 22 minutes per game.

Even in the Finals, Romeo remained the same and he was not a positive for his team. There is no way a 30% shooter with 11.4 attempts per game contributed to winning.

Overall, the most glaring difference is his minutes. Other than that, Terrence remained to be Terrence.
