2019 PBA Gov. Cup: The Coaches on the Hot Seat

Now that we are on the last conference of this season. Teams are now actually looking for the possible changes that they can do in the offseason. The most obvious thing is to make roster changes but there are also teams that could have given ultimatums to their coaches.

Coach Caloy Garcia

Actually, he was the other coach that was rumored to be replaced this conference-break, other than coach Alex Compton. He was sustained as the coach, maybe because Rain or Shine managed to reach the semifinals of the first two conferences this season.

According to the rumors, coach Chris Gavina, one of his assistants, is gaining traction inside the camp of Rain or Shine as the possible next coach of the paint franchise. If Elasto Painters fails to get a ticket to the semifinals, expect the rumored change to get louder.

Coach Norman Black

If you are not aware, Meralco Bolts doesn't own their 1st round pick in the upcoming draft and they are projected right now to be the 3rd pick. That shows you how bad is the on-going season of the Bolts. Now, this is the conference where the expectations for the Bolts are at its peak because they will have their best import in their history, Allen Durham. This is also the conference where the height and length advantage of Raymond Almazan will be maximized.

So, if they fail in this tournament, I am sure the management of the MVP groups will make changes.

Coach Aries Dimaunahan

There are buzzes that a coach is having trouble with his contract to his team and according to the buzzes, that coach was Aries. Nevertheless, I see Blackwater Elite as one of the shakiest franchise right now with the Ray Parks situation and again being lined-up to get another top pick. So, the job of coach Aries is never safe.
