2019 PBA Post Com. Cup: Who is the next forward to be traded?

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Now that we are down to the last two teams in this 2019 Commissioner's Cup. We can now start wrapping up the conference by predicting the guys who will be traded next, per position.

Today, we will discuss the forwards. These are the players who can play in the wing and can also handle some minutes as a bigman.

ALJON MARIANO
If Ginebra is looking to shake up their roster, Mariano could be one of the options to be given up. Even with the departure of a Kevin Ferrer, Mariano ended up averaging only 8.4 minutes. Even though Stanley Pringle is a guard, his presence has pushed Scottie Thompson to eat up more minutes in the wing position. Thus, reducing the playing time of Mariano.

For the upcoming conference, two more forwards in Art Dela Cruz and Jared Dillinger will enter the rotation. That could possibly lead to Aljon being relegated to the reserve list. Before that happens, Ginebra can take advantage of his current trade value to get one of their needs.

ROBBIE HERNDON
Rumblings are getting louder that Magnolia will be improving their frontline rotation this conference break. One guy that they can use for the package to get another center, is Herndon. Herndon may not have tantalizing numbers but if you watch him play, you can see how special he is on the defensive end.

CALVIN ABUEVA
Of course, the easiest one is Calvin. Now, you may say that the management already denied putting him on the trading block but that doesn't mean that trading him is not an option. With the level of controversy surrounding him, I am pretty sure that one or two of the management is more than willing to part ways for him.

I am pretty sure that if a team will offer the right package, Phoenix will give up Calvin.
