2019 Post Com. Cup: Ranking the Youngest Player of each Team! Top 6!

(c) PBA Media Bureau

Let us finish up this series by naming the top 6! Each team has their youngest player that they are hoping to develop into something more in the future.

Rank #7 to #12 was already named. It is time to deliver the top 6!

#6 San Miguel - Von Pessumal
One guy that has shown more glimpses this conference was Von Pessumal. He is already in his 3rd year but playing for the most loaded team in the league has derailed the breakout of Von. Of course, his biggest selling point is his shooting but with his size, he is more versatile than the usual shooter.

#5 Rain or Shine - Javee Mocon
What makes the 2018 draft a very good draft was the fantastic rookie year of Javee. With him, the 2018 draft has four legit starters at the get-go. This conference, even with the presence of gigantic imports, Mocon manufactured 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 36% 3FG per game. Actually, if he can maintain those numbers all throughout his career, he will be a sure-fire Hall-of-Famer. What if he can still increase it?

#4 Alaska - Jeron Teng
The perceived future of Alaska is still very young at 25 years old. Teng's production has been on the up curve this season. This conference, he averaged 9.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 43% FG and 31% 3FG per game. Although Mocon has been better in terms of numbers, Teng for me has more potential. His size and strength combined with his playmaking ability give him a #1 option potential on offense.

#3 Northport - Robert Bolick
The PBA universe saw him cry when they failed to cash-in their twice-to-beat advantage against San Miguel. Ray Parks and Perez may have better numbers than him but in terms of their importance to their franchise, Bolick is at the same level. Bolick is still very young at 23, at least two years younger than CJ Perez and Ray Parks. That means, he has more time to develop than those two.

#2 TNT - RR Pogoy
Do you also feel that Pogoy has been in the PBA for the last ten years? Actually, he was a 2016 draftee. The biggest selling point of Pogoy is, of course, his three-point shooting that peaked this conference when he connected on ten long bombs in a single game. Other than his shooting, Pogoy is also a good defender and playmaker.

#1 Ginebra - Scottie Thompson
Ginebra's future is in good hands. Actually, he is already part of the present of Ginebra. Thompson has been the standard in terms of stat-filling in the PBA. This conference, he averaged 8.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 40% FG per game. For those Ginebra fans who are disappointed with Scottie this season, do not forget that he is only 26 years old. He has a lot of time to improved.
