Gilas Pilipinas still have a chance to be part of the 2020 Olympics but...

Did anyone ever talk about the fact that the 2019 FIBA World Cup is not only about the FIBA World but we will also compete for one seat for the 2020 Olympics?

In the 2020 Olympics, there is no rule that will not allow our Filipino Americans  basketball players to play, who did not get a passport by the age of 16.

Yes, guys like Chris Ross, Stanley Pringle, Christian Standhardinger, Chris Banchero, Chris Newsome and even Jordan Clarkson can easily be available.

So, how could we get that ticket? We simply need to be the top Asian team during the competition.

Up to this point, we still have a chance to get into the greatest sporting event of mankind but the chance is very slim.

To be the best Asian team right now, we need to perfect our two games in the classification game. That will be against Tunisia and Iran. If there is another team that will get into two wins, the point differential will be treated as a tie-breaker.

And that is a bad news for us because we have a -108 point differential. That is the result of losing for a combined 105 points in our first two games.

Overall, there is still a chance but their performance in their first three games may have pushed it to impossibility.

If we think about it seems like that was not taken into account by the PBA because if that was also on the table, the league should have not taken it lightly. Knowing that it is considered to be a more prestigious even than the FIBA World Cup.
