Is it time for Ginebra to replace Joe Devance?

I understand if you feel like Joe Devance can play forever. He was the #1 pick of the 2007 draft and has been on the league for 12 seasons.

During that 12 years of play in the PBA, Devance has morphed into different type of beasts. He has been known as the most loyal soldier of coach Tim Cone in this generation. The swiff-army-knife that complete the system of coach Tim.

The guy is already 37 years old. Just the age alone is enough to say that the we may soon see Joe more besides Mark Caguioa in the bench.

Add the fact that his injury concerns are piling up. He will be having a surgery to his right foot after he suffered plantar fasciitis. He already suffered that injury to his left foot and also did a similar surgery.

And then his production this season is as bad as you can get. He is averaging 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 35.9% FG, 28.6% 3FG and 1.4 turnovers per game.

So, his injury concerns continue to pile up. His production is on the down trend. And he is already old.

It is time to find a replacement for him.

Their new acquisition, Jared Dillinger, should not be that guy because he is already 35 years old and also has a long injury history.

It is also hard to trust Art Dela Cruz because he may already missed as much games as Joe because of injuries even though he is much younger.

So, who will replace Joe?

That guy may not be on Ginebra's roster, right now.
