Is Northport the deepest team in the PBA?

If we are talking about depth, you can look at it in two different ways. First is quality. A team that has five superstars in their starting line-up will be called a deep team because of the accumulation of talent that they have.

Yes, in terms of quality, San Miguel is the undisputed king. They have the best 8 players that you could ever assemble.

The other angle is to look at the quantity. How many good players do the team have? And I believe, Northport will be the team that will give the highest number.

I believed that the 14 local players that they have right now, are all good players. When I say good players, these are the players who are capable of providing net positive in a playoff run.

Northport has Kevin Ferrer, Robert Bolick, Moala Tautuaa, Garvo Lanete, Russel Escoto, Nico Elorde, Jervy Cruz, Jerramy King, Sol Mercado, Paolo Taha, Ryan Arana, Sean Anthony, Bradwyn Guinto and Jonathan Grey.

The depth of Northport is not only about the number but also about the versatility of the roster that they have.

They have great perimeter defenders in Mercado, Taha and Arana. They have great shooters in Ferrer, Escoto and King. They have athletic players in Grey, Taha and Anthony. They have a giant in Tautuaa and capable giant-stopper in Bradwyn Guinto and etc.

After I saw them defeat Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, I believed there is a really good chance that they end up becoming a surprise Semifinalist in this conference.
