No Isaac Go for Ginebra in the 2019 PBA Draft?

One of the hottest trade rumor this conference-break evolved around Greg Slaughter. Actually, we did not get a clear rumor from a legit source but rumors spread because the primary source of rumors kept on talking about the possibility or the need for Ginebra to trade Greg.

Coach Tim Cone denied it and said that they do not have any intention of trading Greg and that the proposals were laughable.

In their tune-up game against Magnolia on Friday, Greg erupted for 15 points and was more agile and active than usual.

That could be the result of the rumored extra works that he was putting up on the gym.

Now, there is a big effect of this denial by coach Tim. If they are going to keep Gregzilla, it means Isaac Go may not be a possibility in the upcoming draft.

If Greg is staying, it is hard to see Go and Greg being effective in one team. Especially with the presence of Japeth Aguilar who can also play the center position.

So, it seems like we also need to squash that rumor already. Unless Greg will have a worse performance than what he did in the Commissioner's Cup, which is unthinkable at this point.

If Greg will continue to be their main center, Ginebra should look to add more shooters. They traded two in Kevin Ferrer and Sol Mercado, to get one elite shooter.

To maximize the effect of shooting, the team needs to have as much shooter as possible. Especially with the fact that they will continue to rely on their frontline of Aguilar-Slaughter, who are both non-shooters.

So, I expect them to look for a shooter in the 2019 draft.
