The 2019 PBA Gov. Cup X-Factors: Magnolia, Meralco, Phoenix, Rain or Shine

Le me start a new series wherein I will name the players that should perform well if they want their team to make a successful playoff run. This is the player that is not one of the three bests players of their team that if he fails to meet the expectations, they will suffer.

MAGNOLIA - Rafi Reavis
Rafi has been hampered by injuries in the last few conferences and that could be a huge roadblock for him again this conference. Magnolia, badly needs him. He is the anchor of their defense. If he will play well this conference, I expect Magnolia''s defense to be elite that will push them again to a deep playoff run.

MERALCO - Nico Salva
After the departure of Jared Dillinger, Nico was the recipient of majority of his minutes. Nico has built himself to be one of the best defenders in the wing. He needs to be more consistent on offense. If he could be a reliable three-point shooter, the spacing of Meralco will be much better in the minutes that he is in the court.

PHOENIX - RR Garcia
It is not common that the new free-agent signing will have a vital role in his first conference for the team but RR will be trusted with a big role, off-the-bench. Unfortunately, he showed his flaws in their first game when he shot 40% in the floor and failed to connect on a single three-pointer. If he wants to maintain his role, he needs his efficiency to go up.

RAIN OR SHINE - James Yap
James is slowly losing minutes to his younger counterparts. That doesn't mean though that his performance will not be a big factor for his team. The reality is, he will still get at least 15 minutes a game and they will expect him to deliver points, as many as possible. If he can do that and be efficient, Rain or Shine will have a good run again this conference.
