Who should be the next naturalized Gilas import?

Al Panlilio, the president of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, did not only share his thoughts on the search for the new head coach but also about the next naturalized player/s of the our national team.

According to him, it is much better if they will naturalize two players because it could be done in a single process. That way, they will save time and effort.

So, let me give you my top 3 pick as the next naturalize players.

#3 Malcolm Miller
I am pretty sure majority of you are not familiar with this guy. He is a 6'7 forward who is a wingman who can do a lot of things, especially shoot threes.

Yes, his biggest selling point was his three-point shooting efficiency. He last played in the 2019 ABL season and averaged 21.7 points, 43% 3FG, 7.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 block per game.

#2 Chris McCullough
The biggest selling point of Chris for me is his age. The guy is only 24 years old. That should give him a decade to play for our national team. He has very good athleticism and good foundation of  skills that he can build up for the future.

What is good is that he is already attempting a lot of three-pointers but his efficiency is not yet there. He also showed in the 2019 Commissioner's Cup that he shows up when his team needed him.

#1 Terrence Jones
In terms of skillset, Jones is a perfect fit for Gilas. We need someone who can shoot the three. We need someone who can protect the rim. We need someone who loves to pass. And we need someone who can breakdown the defense.

Terrence can do all of those and then some more. He is a perfect modern bigman that can carry our offense and anchor our defense.
