2019 PBA draft changes! The top 5 picks will get another 1st round pick!

According to some insiders, the 2019 PBA draft will be injected with some Gilas 2023 nuisance. That will happen, even though this draft is already being labeled as a weak one!

The top 5 picks will first do a Gilas draft; selecting between Isaac Go, Allyn Bulanadi, Rey Suerte, Matt Nieto and Mike Nieto.

So, that means the teams with a top 5 pick; Columbian, Blackwater, NLEX, Alaska and Rain or Shine, will be having additional picks!

Although, they will sign a contract that Gilas will be the one to own those five players until 2023, where there rights will return back to their mother teams.

So, what is now the draft order?
1. Columbian
2. Blackwater
3. NLEX
4. Alaska
5. Rain or Shine
6. Columbian
7. Blackwater
8. NLEX
9. Alaska
10. Rain or Shine
11. Rain or Shine
12. NorthPort
13. Rain or Shine
14. Magnolia
15. Ginebra
16. TNT
17. Columbian

One question in my mind is, are those players not really allowed to play for their mother team in the next three years even if the Gilas will not be conducting preparation?

Other than that, I am fine with the set-up. Although, it could have been much better if this was a much deeper draft.

Wait. What if the reason why the big names did not enter this year's draft was because they have found out about this set-up?
