2020 PBA Offseason Best Trade Asset of Alaska, Rain or Shine, Phoenix

I know that you love to talk about trades. So, in this series of articles, let us name the best trade assets of each team. When I say, the best trade asset, I am talking about the player or a pick that could give them the most without affecting the performance that much or the height of the potential of their team in the future.

Alaska - Vic Manuel
Yes. Vic Manuel could easily be the best offensive player of Alaska and losing him could hurt them this season. But if you think about the fact that they have drafted a Barkley Ebona in the 2019 draft and that Manuel is injury-prone, he did not play in the 2019 Philippine Cup, it could be best that they let him go to get additional pieces for their future.

Manuel has the name recognition, coach Tim Cone loves him, that could net Alaska at least a 1st round pick and a young player. We all know that the 2020 and 2021 PBA drafts will be way more loaded than the 2019, so it could be a home run for Alaska.

Rain or Shine - Beau Belga
I feel like Belga has been on the trade rumor mill for eternity! Rain or Shine though, has managed to keep him but the time may have come to finally unload him. The improvement of Norbert Torres and Sidney Onwubere gives them good cushion in their frontline even if they let go of Belga.

With his marketability and unique style, their is a good chance that Rain or Shine can also get a 1st round pick and then some for him. We have heard in the past that different teams were linked to his name like TNT and San Miguel.

Phoenix - 2020 1st round pick
I do not think they can really get a net positive in trading any of their supporting core players like Alex Mallari, RJ Jazul and Justin Chua. But there is a good chance that there is a team out there who will overvalue their 2020 1st.

When I say overvalue, they will look at Phoenix as a sure fire top 6 worst team when the 2020 season ends, and that could give Phoenix a star or a legit giant in return.
