2020 PBA Offseason Best Trade Asset of Magnolia, Columbian and Blackwater

The final series of the 2019 season will finally start in a week. After that, all eyes will focus on the upcoming season. One thing that is missing as of today are bunch of trades. We already have a trade between Magnolia and Columbian but the trade craze that we anticipated has not happened.

So, who are the players that are the best trade asset of Magnolia, Columbian and Blackwater? When I say, the best trade asset, I am talking about the player or a pick that could give them the most without affecting the performance that much or the height of the potential of their team in the future.

COLUMBIAN - Rashawn McCarthy
It is hard to argue that Rashawn has solidified himself as a legit starting caliber guard for Columbian. This season, he averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 37.4% FG per game. He is very well-rounded and has the ability to pull-up from beyond the arc.

The arrival though of Roosevelt Adams makes him a little bit expendable for Columbian. With the scoring and shooting of Adams, they may need a more traditional type or defensive type of a point guard. So, finding a team that is willing to give a legit center plus some will be a great deal for the Dyip.

BLACKWATER - Maurice Shaw
Blackwater shocked the PBA universe a little by reaching for the tallest player in the 2019 draft pool. He was not supposed to be taken that high. Now, rumblings are strong that a lot of teams are actually interested.

So, why is he the best trade asset of the Elite? Because the Elite doesn't have what it takes to contend this season and even the next season but Shaw will surely help them win more games than necessary. Trading Shaw for a 1st rounder and then some is good enough for the Elite because that will also help them to tank.

MAGNOLIA - Jio Jalalon
It is pretty obvious that the best trade asset of this franchise is a guard because they have a lot of starting caliber guard. But why am I choosing the youngest in their core rotation?

Because he is the youngest and has the most hype. Out of all their guards, other than Paul Lee, they will get the best package in trading Jio. Add the fact that Jio is the worst shooter out of Barroca, Lee, Melton and Banchero and you will see that trading him will not hurt that much. Magnolia way needs a shooter more than another ball-handler in Jio.

So, giving up Jio and a veteran and a 1st round pick for a Christian Standhardinger will be a great trade for the Purefoods franchise.
