PBA Trade Analysis: Is that 2nd round pick, worth it for Alaska?

I do not blame you if you felt like the just approved Alaska-Phoenix trade will not move the needles for both teams.

I disagree. I believed, this is a big trade for the Aces.

So, the trade was Phoenix' 2020 2nd, the lowest, will be going to Alaska for Jake Pascual. The trade is fair because Pascual is just a role-playing big and the value of that is a 2nd round pick.

TEAM ANALYSIS

Phoenix Fuel Masters
With the retirement of Doug Kramer, it is just right that Phoenix will look for someone to fill-up his spot. Although, it could have been much better if they look for a much taller one. Nevertheless, they do play a very versatile line-up that Jake should be fitted well.

Alaska Aces
That 2nd round pick in the 2020 draft could be golden. If all the guys that are projected to enter the next year's draft will join, I am talking about Paras, Pasaol, Munzon, Santillan, Rike, Johnson, Brickman, Malonzo, Baltazar, Oftana, Muyang and Ravana, we could be a having an all-time type of draft, in terms of depth.

A draft that could easily be much deeper even in comparison to the Gilas draft of 2016. What I am trying to say is, this upcoming draft could have at the minimum, 18 1st round talents!

So?

That pick that Alaska could be getting may have the value of a 1st round pick. And with the potential depth of the bigs that will join next year, Alaska may have gotten an opportunity to get a young big for their future.
