The 2020 PBA season is less than two months away but we have not heard about the lifting of the suspension of Calvin Abueva.
The bad news is, a source have said that it will not be tackled in the upcoming PBA board meeting and that some big bosses of teams are trying to make sure that it will not be resolved.
Yes. There could be people inside the PBA who are trying to make sure that Calvin will not return to the PBA's playing court, anytime soon.
And that is unfair! If you remember what the commissioner have said about his suspensions and the things that he should do for it to be lifted, it seems like he has accomplished everything already.
According to his team, Phoenix Fuel Masters, he has been taking part of the CSR programs of the company. He delivered a public apology already. And he has been helping other people. He just showed that with what he did to the victim of Taal.
That is a very bad news to the Phoenix Fuel Masters! If you remember, they were the top team after the elimination round of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup!
That actually shows a lot of what Calvin Abueva can bring to the court. We also saw last month how big of a draw he was when his video playing in a municipal league got million of views in Youtube!
Unfortunately for him and for us who are waiting for his release, he could be facing a bigger enemy more than himself.
I hope the PBA and the commissioner realize that he is one of their biggest draw. That he is on a team that could help them improved the parity image of the league. That the PBA is not complete without him.
