PBA Controversy: Calvin Abueva is still suspended because of...

June Mar Fajardo is not the only superstar in the PBA that is facing the possibility of not playing in the 2020 PBA season for more than one month. Calvin Abueva is also on the list.

Calvin has been suspended from June, 2019 up to this point. So, for almost nine months now, Calvin has not received a salary from the PBA and has failed to help his franchise, the Phoenix Fuel Masters.

After several months of being silent about it, commissioner Willie Marcial has revealed to the media that Abueva will start the 2020 PBA season, suspended.

Why?

According to him, Abueva still needs to do one more thing for him to finally recommend to the PBA board to lift his suspension.

Yes, even if Calvin Abueva managed to do that order from commissioner Marcial, Calvin will still need to wait for the approval of the PBA board.

The biggest question though is, what is that order from Marcial? Why did he keep it a secret from the public?

I have this feeling that this situation of Calvin is already lingering into something illegal because they have deprived Calvin of his livelihood while not revealing the extent of the parameters that he needs to meet to be available again.

The fact that they failed to provide the public with a clear explanation of what Calvin should do to play again in the PBA is the biggest evidence of that.

While everyone is evaluating the possible impact of not having June Mar Fajardo, I hope you remember which team ended up as the #1 after the elimination round in the 2019 Philippine Cup.

It was Phoenix Fuel Masters with Calvin Abueva.
