PBA Trade Rumor: The Christian Standhardinger to Ginebra trade will not happen

For now. The fact that the sports director of the San Miguel Corporation, Al Francis Chua, has commented about Greg Slaughter' status and the trade rumors is an indication that the Standhardinger trade to Ginebra will not happen.

Mr. Chua is usually silent about trade rumors but now that he denied it, his reputation is now on the line. If a trade happens anytime soon, the people will surely remind him of his comment.

Other than denying the trade, Mr. Chua also highlighted the returning core of Ginebra and that they will just need to adjust without Greg Slaughter.

One thing that he reminded the people was the fact that they managed to win a championship without Greg. Although, if they are really targeting a grand slam for Ginebra, he may have forgotten that they did that with Justin Brownlee and of course, Brownlee will not be there for the Philippine Cup.

Going back to him denying trade rumors, the fact that he did not mention any player, is hinting that they are actually true.

Why did he not provide any names? Because if he provides a name and a trade happened to get that guy, the hit to his reputation will be much bigger.

That means the Standhardinger trade may have just been postponed for now. Although with the current JP Erram discussion on the side of MVP, we expect that the value of Standhardinger has gotten higher. Without Greg to put in the package, they may need one of their other core players.

The question now is, can their center rotation of Japeth Aguilar-Joe Devance-Prince Caperal withstand their enemies in the Philippine Cup? Especially with Devance missing three-to-four weeks at the start of the season.
