PBA Trade Rumors: Is Magnolia giving up too much in their rumored trade for Standhardinger?

The on-going Greg Slaughter saga is still the talk of the PBA universe. Other sources have confirmed that the decision of Greg to take a break is the reason that the supposed Slaughter and Jerrick Balanza for Christian Standhardinger will not happen.

Now, new rumors have been written about the possibility that Standhardinger is now on his way to the rival of Ginebra, Magnolia Hotshots.

The rumored trade though will be star-studded because Magnolia could be giving up Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang.

Yes, according to the buzzes, Magnolia will give up their top two stars to get a Standhardinger. Is that too much for Standhardinger?

If Northport will not add anything and the trade is really Standhardinger for Lee and Sangalang, I think it is not fair. Even though Standhardinger is a way better player than Sangalang, Ian should be more than capable of giving 75% of Christian’s value. Ian also has some qualities that Christian do not have. His post move and footwork inside is way better than that of Christian.

So, if you add a Paul Lee in that package, Magnolia is already losing a lot of value just to get Christian. Especially with the fact that Paul Lee is one of the best three-point shooters in the league and three-point shooting is the most important skill in basketball, today.

Unfortunately for Northport, Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang are of course not rumored to remain that long with the franchise. But, if you imagine a core of Robert Bolick, Paul Lee, Sean Anthony, Sean Manganti and Ian Sangalang, I think you are looking on a legit title contender.
