The Standhardinger to Ginebra trade may not happen because of the Erram to TNT trade

The Ginebra and the Magnolia communities are still waiting for the lucky team that will get Christian Standhardinger. That is assuming Northport is really a farm team of the SMC Corp. that they are willing to give up the best player of the PBA this season.

The Ginebra fans are craving more now for Christian, because of the sudden departure of Greg Slaughter.

Recently, Ginebra received another bad news after Joe Devance decided to have a stem cell procedure in Germany, hoping that the pain from his foot and knee injuries will finally go away. The problem for Ginebra is, he will be missing two-to-four weeks of their campaign in the Philippine Cup.

One thing that is confusing a lot of fans is the lack of movement in the camp of the San Miguel Corporation even with the current push of TNT for a JP Erram trade.

The good news for SMC fans is, the trade is not yet approved. Actually, @InsidethePBA of Twitter said that the first revision of the trade was again rejected by the trade committee. TNT already added Yousef Taha and three additional picks, with one of them a 1st rounder and that is still a ''no'' by the committee.

There is a good chance then that is the reason why the Standhardinger trade is being delayed. With the strictness of the trade committee against that trade, the value that TNT is giving up for Erram and Blackwater's 2020 1st, this is only an assumption, is getting higher.

If the value of a JP Erram is getting higher, then we can expect a much higher value for a Standhardinger.

Which means at this point, the trade committee may have a hard time approving a Ginebra package that will not involve one of the core pieces of the franchise. I am talking about at least one of LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar or Art Dela Cruz.

That is the reason why it is more realistic now that Magnolia will be the team that will get him because they have more viable options to give up.
