PBA Free-Agency: Who wants a 7'0 with a three-point shot?

Of course, there is only one local 7'0 in the Philippine Basketball Association and that is Greg Slaughter.

Maybe, you are asking why this is in a PBA Free-Agency article. Technically, Greg is still with Ginebra but only as a restricted free agent. He cannot sign with another team but without a contract, he also has the option to not sign the current offer of the only franchise that he played for.

On his Instagram, the guy posted this picture.

This should be great news for Ginebra fans because it means that Greg is using his sabbatical to improve his game. In a way, he could be doing this to proved all his doubters wrong, once he returns in the future.

Even the threat of a virus is not stopping him from improving his game. It seems like he has this goal in mind that he can only achieve if he goes full throttle.

The most interesting part of the picture is the fact that he is attempting a long-range shot. I am not sure if it is a three-point shot but at this point of his age, there is no point in developing a midrange shot. He should go straight for a three-point shot.

A three-point shot for a center will be a game-changer. It will open up a lot of things for the team that he is playing for. Actually, it will be a league-changer if you consider the fact that we are talking about the tallest player in the PBA.

Just imagine him being an average three-point shooter in the Philippine Cup. With more than two-inches advantage against anyone other than Fajardo, he will always have a clear view of the basket. In short, it will be hard to challenge his shot.

Now, if his outside shot gains respect, he can then open up the paint because the center of the defensive team will need to be close to him if he is stationed beyond the arc. That means no JP Erram, Raymond Almazan, Christian Standhardinger, JR Quinahan, Rafi Reavis and etc. to meet the drives and cuts of Stanley Pringle, Japeth Aguilar, Scottie Thompson and other Ginebra players.

The question now is, will Ginebra accept him back?
