2020 PBA Trade Suggestion for Ginebra: How about an elite shooter and power forward?

Let us continue this series of articles wherein we will suggest a trade for each team that will catapult them to the right path. When I say the right path, the two extremes will be all-out contending and all-out tanking.

Today, we will focus on Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. Their biggest issue is the sabbatical of Greg Slaughter. The question now is, what will the management do if Greg returns to the team? Will they accept him with open arms or will they trade him?

There three-point shooting is still a weakness. So, they should also look for a sniper to add to their line-up.

So, how about a trade wherein they will get a bigman that coach Tim Cone is a fan of and a good three-point shooter?

Ginebra trade: Prince Caperal, 2020 1st, Jerrick Balanza
Alaska trade: Vic Manuel, Michael DiGregorio

Alaska should be more than happy to get two quality young players and a 1st round pick because they are retooling for the future. They have ten players who are 30 years old or below.

For Ginebra, they sacrificed a little bit of their future to further enhanced the quality of their team for the present.

By getting a Vic Manuel, Ginebra will have no problem even if Greg never returns or if they decide to keep him. A frontline rotation of Aguilar-Slaughter-Manuel will give a 48-minutes headache to their opponents.

DiGregorio could be the shooter that they have been waiting for. He can play both guard position and in the last three seasons, he shot 40% or better from beyond the arc.

With Scottie Thompson's rebounding and the physique and athleticism of Stanley Pringle, they can play three-guard line-ups to maximize the spacing that Michael provides.
