PBA Controversy: Coach Chot Reyes response to coach Tab Baldwin's statement! Is he right?

The statements of coach Tab Baldwin in the podcast, Coaches Unfiltered, continue to be a hot topic in the PBA universe.

One coach that has been silent about it has spoken. Coach Chot Reyes told Spin.ph that he was silent about it because no one has asked him.

So, here was his short but sweet response to Spin.ph.
I respectfully disagree with what coach Tab said that Filipino coaches are tactically immature... We competed with a style that constantly kept the other teams off-balance.
Before we dive into his statement, let us talk first about the connection between coach Chot Reyes and coach Tab. Coach Chot was actually the guy who first allowed coach Tab Baldwin to be a consultant of our national team.

And then in 2014, coach Tab Baldwin replaced him as the coach and led the team in a silver medal finish in the 2015 Asian Cup.

Going back to coach Chot's response, everyone has the right to disagree. Actually, a lot of the local coaches did not only disagree but even condemned coach Tab's statements.

The system that coach Chot is talking about could be the dribble-drive offense with very-quick guards. Coach Chot made it famous. Actually, a lot of the elements of the scheme has been utilized by other local coaches. But in reality, coach Chot was the only one who succeeded with it at the international level and even at the local level.

Remember also that coach Tab was not saying that all coaches are tactically immature. It is just that we may have a culture that encouraged it and that majority of our coaches can be described as such.

So, having elite coaches like coach Chot Reyes should not discredit the message of coach Tab.
