Another 7-footer Pinoy teen could play in the US, following Kai Sotto's footsteps!

Even though Kai Sotto has yet to fulfill his dream of reaching the NBA, I think he has attracted a lot of Filipino amateur players to follow his footsteps.

The most alluring one could be Sage Tolentino! He is only 16 years old and he is already a 7-footer. That helped him get the attention of East West Private, the current agent company of Kai.

Kai and Sage met earlier this month in a Father's day celebration party. That could easily be the beginning of a very long connection between the two because they are being groomed as the future frontcourt of our Philippine national team in basketball.

Sage is currently residing and playing high school basketball in Hawaii with Maryknoll High. Last season, he averaged 10.7 points, with 9 three-pointers made and 76% from the charity stripes.

The combination of a good volume of three-pointers made and above-average free-throw shooting is an indication that he could be a capable shooter in the future.

Now, the hype may start to get serious for Sage as Kansas University offered him a scholarship to play in the US NCAA.

Kansas is considered to be a powerhouse school in college basketball, as they actually ended as the top team of US NCAA before COVID-19 finished it without having a champion.

Kansas has a lot of former players that are currently playing in the NBA like Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins of Golden State, Kelly Oubre of Phoenix Suns and Marcus and Markieff Morris.

Sage said that he will not rush into a decision, knowing that he has still two years to wait before he is eligible for college basketball.
