PBA Controversy: The PBA has suspended Calvin Abueva but silent about Japeth Aguilar?

Last Friday, the PBA met with the management of ballclubs and they have decided that the players who will be caught violating the quarantine rules of IATF will not only face penalties from the PBA but also from their ballclubs.

That is a good thing to hear because the COVID-19 virus should be taken seriously. But the funny thing is, the league has been silent about the rumor that Japeth Aguilar went to La Union for a short tourism trip last month.

In their meeting last Friday, their exhibit was the penalty that they gave to Japeth Aguilar and Adrian Wong, who violated the quarantine protocol by playing a 5-on-5 game.

Yes, if the rumor of Japeth going to La Union is true, that will be his second violation of quarantine protocols. And yet the league is silent about it.

Remember Calvin Abueva?

His fate of being suspended for more than a year now was sealed after committing two big violations of hitting Terrence Jones and disrespecting a fan.

The fact now is, the totality of what Japeth did could be worst than what Calvin Abueva did because we are talking about public health. And if the health of the public is a concern, it means lives are on the line.

What Japeth did has the potential of endangering lives. Compare that to what Calvin did and you will see the difference. Yes, he hit Terrence Jones but Terrence can take that hit, knowing his physique.

And yet the league remains mum about it.

While Calvin Abueva is still not sure if he will be able to accomplish the requirements that they have given to him. Japeth Aguilar will be there with his team, Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel, preparing for the resumption of the league.

Maybe, what Japeth did was not that bad. It was a quick trip, right?

But wait, they just announced parameters showing how serious they are about the virus and following the protocols of the government.

So, why are they not talking about Japeth Aguilar of Ginebra?
