Here is our newest series of articles wherein we will recall a trade rumor in the past that did not happen for each team. Again, this is only a recall of past trade rumors. These rumors are not present ones. So, do not expect them to happen or to be refuted anytime soon!
Today, we will focus on the Phoenix Fuel Masters. They did have some interesting trade rumors in the past twelve months but at the center of their universe is still the guy that is currently not allowed to play in the league, Calvin Abueva.
Last year, Snow posted this about him.
It did not materialize that much and Snow posted the possible reason.
That claim by Snow was not really refuted or agreed by the PBA management. But knowing that the guy is still with Phoenix, there is a good chance that it is true.
Although, just the mere fact that he is suspended for very serious reasons and with his history, any team should be warry about trading for him.
Although, the most latest one could be the most interesting because Snow pointed to the San Miguel Corporation as a possible destination.
"Wala na problema sa barangay" was written because Calvin Abueva has an issue with coach Al Francis Chua in the past.
Actually, he was not rumored to go to Ginebra but to Magnolia. Calvin has a restaurant with a name, Dampa ni The Beast. And of course, the use of chicken points to Magnolia.
WHY IT DID NOT HAPPEN?
I am pretty sure every team is still worried about his current suspension. Also, Phoenix could be unwilling to unload him and not get a similar package to what they gave up, in return.
SO NOW WHAT?
Let us wait for his suspension to be lifted. I am quite confident that the moment his suspension is gone, we will be clarified with his situation with Phoenix.
