PBA Trade Rumors Recall: Meralco was supposed to get the superstar center!

Today, we will focus on the Meralco Bolts. Meralco made a big trade last year when they acquired Raymond Almazan. That helped them reached the 2019 Governors' Cup. Unfortunately, he was injured in the middle of the series.

The other center that MVP acquired last year was JP Erram. From NLEX, he was sent to TNT. But actually, he was first rumored for Meralco. The rumor was started by this one.

The use of cursing plus being described as flamboyant points to coach Yeng. While Erram is known to be discouraged, easily.

The trade rumor was made clearer by the following tweets.

WHY IT DID NOT HAPPEN?
There are a lot of possible reasons. The easy one is, the management of the MVP group concluded that it is much better if they go all-in with TNT, maybe to stop the dominant run of the SMC teams.

Now, if we try to connect it with the other rumors, maybe he was really meant for Meralco. While TNT may have been trying to lure another giant. There was another rumor that they are trying to acquire Greg.

Greg decided to take a sabbatical. So, that ended that possibility.

So, knowing that TNT was the flag-bearer of MVP. The moment that TNT failed to trade for another starting-caliber center. They then decided to send JP to TNT.

SO NOW WHAT?
I think Erram will stay for a while with TNT. The franchise does not have a clear path to acquiring another center. So, keeping JP could be their best bet.
