PBA Bubble Tournament is here! But WHERE and HOW?

The Philippine Basketball Association changed their tune as they are now seriously considering copying the NBA bubble concept.

Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao in Quezon City, Clark in Pampanga, and the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna are the venues being eyed for the bubble.

It is not yet a done deal though as they will continue to discuss it this week in their scheduled board meeting.

Also, it will need a lot of paper works as they will need to get the approval of the city and province of the location of the bubble, the contract with the place and many more.

Now, if an NBA-like bubble will happen, how should they do it?

Copying the concept of the NBA for all the non-on-court related stuff like quarantine for anyone who left the bubble and etc.

I hope, they also copy what the NBA did and be creative. PBA will have a bubble for almost a full-season, in comparison to the NBA who was about to finish their elimination round.

What I will do is to actually divide the teams into two groups and let them play 16 games each. Why so many? Because I want them to try having more games than the usual 7 games-a-week in the past. Just to see how it will work because this is a good test in looking into having two conferences, instead of three.

And then have a long playoff than usual. Like, qualify eight teams so that you will have quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. Quarterfinals will be best-of-5, semis and finals will be best-of-7.

But they can make it quicker by having them play every other day.

So, where should it be?

I think it should be to Inspire Sports Academy because it has a nearby hospital. I think that is an excellent luxury to have because it will make it easier to monitor testing and even injuries.

Overall, I think this is the best way for the PBA to resume.
