PBA Trade Rumor Recall: Did TNT target a giant center from Ginebra, before going for Erram?

Let us continue our on-going series of articles wherein we will recall a trade rumor in the past that did not happen for each team. Again, this is only a recall of past trade gossips. These rumors are not present ones. So, do not expect them to happen or to be refuted anytime soon!

Today, our spotlight will be on TNT Ka Tropa, the flagship franchise of the MVP group in the PBA. They made a big trade before the start of the season. Although, we felt that it was out of the blue because JP Erram was first rumored to go to Meralco.

Before that trade, there was actually a big trade that the people are talking about. Of course, Snow Badua started the rumor.

Badua started the rumor by pointing to what happened to Terrence. According to loud chatterings around the league, Terrence was traded because he was not liked by the "veteran" leadership of the team. 

So, the specific team that Ray Parks wants to play for is Ginebra. Actually, he has been vocal about it. Actually, you can see that in his Twitter account where you can see that his display picture is still the one when he was still with the San Miguel Beermen in the ABL. 

I think this could explain why it did not happen. Of course, this was the correct thinking for TNT. They should try to get the best fit for their team and at that point, they have not traded for Erram yet, they badly need a center.

Now, if you want to know the reason why Ray Parks wants to be traded, Snow provided two. 

First, is a dispute about the contract. Of course, there is a maximum contract in the league but at this point, it is already an open secret that teams actually provide much higher pay for their PBA players. So, Bobby could have been asking for a higher amount that what TNT can provide.

The second one is about his connection to his teammates. How did I know that this was Parks? #4 points to him because he was rumored that he pushed for a trade when he was in Blackwater. And his girlfriend was the one that Calvin Abueva insulted.

WHY IT DID NOT HAPPEN?
I think, Ginebra cannot provide the right package. Especially when Greg decided to take a sabbatical. At that point, Ginebra cannot offer a starting-caliber center that can help TNT, right away. Ginebra cannot trade Japeth Aguilar because that will leave them without a giant center.

SO NOW WHAT?
There is a lot of hints that Ray Parks wants to control his career. And at this point, I do not see any indication that he wants to remain with TNT for a long time. So, I expect trade rumors about him to keep on coming once the league resumes.
