PBA Trending: Coach Chot Reyes wants to experience coaching Ginebra. Is it possible?

He may not have won a lot of championship like coach Tim Cone. He may not be well-liked as coach Yeng Guiao. He may not have gotten the opportunity to coach arguably the Greatest of All Time in the PBA like coach Leo Austria.

But there is no doubt in my mind that coach Chot is easily one of the top 3 coaches in the PBA this century. He won eight championships, five were Philippine Cup, and led our national team to a Silver Medal in the FIBA Asia Championship.

One thing though that he revealed in the Coaches Unfiltered podcast of Tiebreakertimes, was his wish of coaching Ginebra.

He said that he always thought that it would be cool to coach Ginebra, and having their millions of fans behind him, every night.

He added that he is always intrigued about the possibility of coaching Ginebra. The question now is, is it possible?

For that to happen, coach Tim Cone, considered by a lot of people as the greatest PBA coach of all Time. should give up his position.

I do not think, that will happen through firing because coach Tim has been the most consistent coach in the league.

So, retirement is a much bigger possibility. Although, coach Tim is only 62 years old and I haven't heard anything bad about his health condition. So, he should be able to coach up to his 70s.

The last possibility is if the big boss of San Miguel will once again ask coach Tim to handle the third team of the conglomerate, the Beermen. Knowing that Ginebra has one of the top 3 most powerful line-ups in the league, there is a good chance that he can also achieve grand slam with them. So, pushing to the flagship franchise of the conglomerate can happen.

As you have read, there is a possibility that coach Chot will have an opportunity of coaching Ginebra but knowing how good coach Tim is, that possibility is very small.
