2020 PBA Trade Rumor Recall: Did Ginebra really consider trading Pringle to these teams?

October 9 is the target date for the PBA bubble. It will be a race to finish as the elimination round will be quick, as well as the playoffs. Here is the final installment of our on-going series of articles wherein we will recall a trade rumor in the past that did not happen for each team. Again, this is only a recall of past trade gossips. These rumors are not present ones. So, do not expect them to happen or to be refuted anytime soon!

The last team that we will talk about is also the team that is involved in the most number of trade rumors in the past several years.

Yes, I am talking about Brgy Ginebra San Miguel. We have a lot of options to talk about, like the Greg Slaughter saga, the availability of Vic Manuel and Beau Belga and etc. But I think, the most fascinating rumors to check back were the Stanley Pringle ones.

Yes. Even though he was the biggest star to move team last year, he was still involved in a lot of trade buzzes after that. Take a look.

By the way, the trade rumor involves other big names but our focus will be on Stanley. Snow made sure that his followers will get that Pringle is one of the guys that he was pointing to. Paul Lee is from Tondo where Moriones streets can be found. So, he was hinting a Pringle move to Magnolia.

So, here was a potential version of a gigantic trade that the first two tweets could be referring to. It was a very big trade that could have changed the way we look at the league, today.

Although, a more interesting rumor was this.

So, he pointed to Stanley and then connect with Blackwater products. In short, he was hinting on a possible exchange where Stanley ends up with Blackwater.

Here were two Tweets, hinting the same. Basically, Stanley falling to black water was the point of the 2nd tweet. We can just imagine and hypothesize today about the possible return that Ginebra was looking for.

WHY IT DID NOT HAPPEN?
In the first one, the management of SMC may have decided that, it was not the best path to take. Remember that by February 2020, it was now Greg Slaughter who will be used to get Standhardinger to Ginebra.

The second one could be a matter again of simply deciding that it was not the best trade to make. Unless, SMC did not want to meet the price, *wink wink.

SO NOW WHAT?
Now that they have won a championship with Stanley and coach Tim Cone was clear this preseason that Stanley will be leading this team, I doubt if he is still in the trade block or any trade discussion.
