PBA Analysis: Trade Targets for TNT to replace Kelly Williams

 

The sudden retirement of Kelly Williams will not only be a hit emotionally to the TNT franchise but it also creates a hole in their bigman rotation.

At the top of that rotation, they have a strong JP Erram-Troy Rosario duo. But after those two, they have a very green Lervin Flores and two 38 years old and above options in Jay Washington and Harvey Carey.

Knowing the injury history of Washington, Carey and Erram, they will really need to find one more capable big. Unfortunately, they have unloaded a lot of their assets. 

So, what are their best options?

#3 Asi Taulava

I think, the MVP group just found the perfect reason to finally send Asi Taulava home to the TNT Ka Tropa. Knowing that NLEX is not really looking or capable of being a playoff contender this year, how about unloading Asi and get a much younger piece from their big brother?

#2 Kyle Pascual

If they want a much younger option, Pascual of Magnolia is a good consideration. He is a solid bigman who has a good set of capabilities and with ample experience in the playoffs that he can earn some minutes when it matters.

#1 Greg Slaughter

I know about the rumor that Greg went sabbatical to avoid a trade. But what if they offer him a starting spot in a team that can compete for a championship? Greg knows how to play in a twin-tower squad. Actually, Erram could be a better fit because Erram can hit three-pointers. 

What will they offer to Ginebra?

I heard Ray Parks wants to be a King. So, this will be perfect.
