2020 PBA Power Ranking - The Top 5 Most Improved Player candidate!

PBA players were given almost a whole year to prepare for this tournament. So, the expectations were much higher and I think, a lot of them have risen over expectations.

So, let us name our top 5 candidates so far to get the Most Improved Player award!

#5 Don Trollano
Don was a strong candidate last year as he legitimized himself as a starting-caliber player in a contender, TNT. Now, he needs to show that he can be the leader of a team and he did that in their first several games, producing 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 33% 3FG per game.

#4 Javee Mocon
Another strong candidate last year sustained his upward trend as Mocon grabbed the main-scoring role in the camp of Rain or Shine. He is a very versatile player who is not getting enough attention so far even though his team is doing pretty well in this early part of the tournament.

#3 Jason Perkins
Believe it or not but a Phoenix player is currently on the top 10 of points and rebounds. Perkins is producing 17.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 47% FG per game. Perkins' level of skills is really high that it is overcoming his physical boundaries.

#2 Prince Caperal
Who is the most efficient three-point shooter so far? Yes, an unknown center from Brgy. Ginebra. Caperal is shooting 65% from beyond the arc and has made 13 three-pointers in their first four games. The other facets of his game are still lacking but his shooting alone has legitimized him as a starting-caliber center. Just last season, he was just a back-up and now he is a feared starting center.

#1 CJ Perez
I understand that Perez was already awesome last season. He produced 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 45% FG per game. What if he can still push that to 25.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.3 steals and 43% FG per game?

Yes. Perez is currently putting up monstrous numbers and nobody cares because he is on a very young team. That should not discount the fact though that he is on the top 10 of five of the statistical categories in the box score.
