PBA Free-Agency: Greg Slaughter is back in the Philippines? How about Ginebra?

After Greg Slaughter signed with Misko Raznatovic, an international agent that handled NBA superstars, we have not heard anything about him.

Until Snow Badua posted yesterday that someone saw Greg at his old condo in Mandaluyong. Of course, Greg is the kind of person that will be hard to be misidentified.

So, the question that sprouted was, will he return to the PBA?

Do not expect that to happen in the upcoming tournament in the PBA bubble because the line-ups were already finalized and Greg was not part of the roster of Ginebra.

So, what could be his purpose in returning home?

In one of his interviews in the past, Greg revealed that he wants to be part of the 2023 Gilas team. He is free to play for Gilas who are actually looking for warm bodies.

Gilas Pilipinas is bound to play in a bubble tournament to push through the qualifier for the FIBA World Cup this November. It will conflict with the PBA bubble.

In short, our Gilas team needs players. Greg is back home with no professional team to play for. So, Greg and our Gilas team are a good match at this point of the year.

Although, it is interesting to see how Ginebra will react to this news. Will they approach the giant about his contract?

If they do not. It indicates that we may never see Greg play again in Ginebra uniform.
