2020 PBA Mock Draft: The Top 10 Shooters! Three Centers on the list!

As the 2020 PBA draft continues to get closer, here is another potential look to the draft pool. Knowing that three-point shooting is the most important skill in modern basketball. Let me give the possible top 10 options if you are looking for a shooter.

Although, let me just share that I used this table in determining how good of a shooter they are.

#10 Kobe Paras (UP)
Paras is a volume shooter. I like his form because it is high and quick that it will be hard to challenge. He shot 25% in US NCAA and made a lot of pull-up midrangers, a good indication that he will improve.

#9 Justine Baltazar (DLSU)
Baltazar has been shooting three-pointers for a while now. It is not yet steady but with this early start for a legit 6'7 center, we expect him to be much better as he grows in the PBA. He shot 30% in 2019 UAAP.

#8 Franky Johnson (International)
What I love about him is how quick his release is. His range is also pretty far, that will make him a threat just by crossing the half-court line. He shot 33% 3FG in US NCAA but I expect him to be better in the PBA.

#7 Mikh McKinney (International)
He plays more like Stanley Pringle than Romeo. He shot 38% in International league and 39% in US NCAA with 1.5 makes per game. He is a credible shooter in his entire amateur career.

#6 RK Ilagan (San Sebastian)
Considered to be the deadliest three-point shooter in the NCAA PH for the last two years. He only shot 28% last year but made 28 threes, averaging 2 per game. Those numbers are elite in NCAA.

#5 Jamie Malonzo (DLSU)
Malonzo plays like a wing in the US and here in the Philippines because of athleticism but he can also be built as a big in the PBA. Thus, his 33% efficiency in US NCAA and his quick release could be a potent combination.

#4 Mikey Williams (International)
Out of all the Terrence Romeo - like guards in the amateurs, Mikey could be the best three-point shooter. He shot 38% in MPBL with 2.7 makes per game. In US NCAA, he also shot 37% with 1.9 makes per game.

#3 Troy Rike (NU)
I am buying the shooting of Rike. He is 6'7 and has the physique to defend and play against the giants in the PBA. He shot 33% in US NCAA, where he played as a forward. That made his shooting form very fluid.

#2 Calvin Oftana (San Beda)
Oftana amazed us with his athleticism, energy and finishing in his 2019 NCAA MVP year. But his shooting was also awesome, as he ended up as the most efficient three-point shooter at 42% 3FG and he is a PF.

#1 Jason Brickman (International)
Brickman will not enter the draft as the best passing prospect but he will also be the top three-point shooter and it was not close. He shot 44% in the recent season of ABL and 41% in his entire US NCAA career. His combination of passing and shooting made me believe that he could be a better Jimmy Alapag.
