PBA Analysis: Ray Parks is overrated! Right?

Bobby Ray Parks almost carried TNT Tropang Giga for a come-from-behind victory over Phoenix with his 41 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 10 three-pointers made and 59% FG shooting from the field. Instead of getting adoration for his valiant and flawless effort, he was met with negative comments that want to discredit his performance.

He is so hated by the PBA universe that no matter how high his points will be. No matter how efficient he is. No matter how many three-pointers he makes, more PBA fans still see him as overrated.

But what does overrated means? It means rated or valued too highly.

Is Parks valued too highly? You mean a guy averaging 20.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 50% FG is valued too highly?

Let us think about it. Let us value him too highly. If we anoint him as a player more impactful than a June Mar Fajardo, I think that is overrating him.

But, are you telling me that if we say that he is already the best player of TNT, we are already overrating him?

There is a reason why he is getting more minutes and touches than Jayson Castro. There is a reason why he is averaging more points than Pogoy.

But he is still overrated, right?

Or maybe, it is better to say that there are a lot of fans who cannot accept the reality that Parks is a legit star. That he could lead a team this year to a championship. That overrated is not a proper word already to describe Ray.
