PBA Controversy: I feel bad about Ginebra and Ginebra fans

When Anne Curtis debut a song album, Annebisyosa, many Filipinos bought it that it reached platinum status.

Was it because she was an awesome singer? Was it because her songs were so catchy? Or, was it because of the music video?

None of the above. It sold a lot because she was famous.

And there are a lot of OPM fans who trashed her for releasing an album even though she was not a good singer. It is as if, it was her fault that she wants to make an album. That she is famous. That the album went well.

In the basketball arena, it also happen to popular teams. And the usual accusation is, the league is helping the popular team to win games.

Why? Because the longer that popular team is playing, the more eyeballs will watch the league. The more people who are watching, the higher the potential earning.

Unfortunately, these accusations, especially when heard coming from players or personnel in the PBA, taint the playoff run of that popular team, forever.

It doesn't matter if it not true. People will always talk about it and analyze the possibility that it was really fixed.

So, for Ginebra fans, do not be overwhelmed. It is an additional challenge for supporting the most popular team in the Philippines. At the end of the day, a championship is a championship. Never say die.
