PBA Hot Take: Is Abueva versus Parks the next legendary rivalry in the league?

The rivalry is easily the tastiest ingredient of a sports league. I am pretty sure the Ginebra and Magnolia fans will agree with that.

Winning is much sweeter when it is against your rival. On the other hand, losing is way bitter at the hands of your fierce competitor.

Most of the time, rivalries are just on the court. Just like Mark Caguioa and James Yap. The two guys that we debated against each other to determine the face of the PBA in the 2000s and early 2010s.

There are rivalries though that goes beyond that. There are rivalries where the players actually hate each other. In short, they are in a rivalry feud.

And rivalry feud are actually even better than a normal rivalry.

This Calvin Abueva and Ray Parks debacle right now is brewing into one.

And shocking, they are two guys that resemble the two legends in the classiest and bloodiest rivalry in the history of the league.

Yes. I am talking about Robert Jaworski and Ramon Fernandez.

Just like Jaworski, Calvin is beloved by the majority of the PBA universe. He represents Filipino basketball, very well.

On the other hand, Parks is the super special talent, anointed as the guy that will rule the league. Yes. Just like Ramon.

Three decades after that legendary Jawo-Ramon feud, we deserved to have another one. So, which side are you on?

Abueva or Parks?
