PBA Trade Target Suggestion for Alaska, Magnolia: Ian Sangalang's future bigman partner should be?

So, our finalists are already known! So, let us continue tackling the eliminated teams and review their season by focusing on the best type of player that they should target.

Today our focus will be on Alaska Aces and Magnolia Hotshots.

ALASKA ACES
Looking at the numbers, Alaska did have a very good tournament. Unfortunately, the competition was so tight that they ended up with a twice-to-beat disadvantage against the powerhouse, TNT Ka Tropa. But still, they ended up as the #2 in terms of points per game. Even though they did not rely on their three-point shooting.

They focused more on scoring in the paint, and it helped a lot that they found a very good rookie bigman in Barkley Ebona. Also, their midrange scoring worked very well. Although, there is a good chance that it was more of a product of a hot streak and it is not really their real efficiency from beyond the arc.

Overall though, what they need remains to be the same and that is a shooter. That is the reason why the rumored Vic Manuel to Phoenix Super LPG trade is very interesting. According to the rumors, the trade did not materialize.

But, what if in that trade discussion, Justin Chua or Jason Perkins is bound to Alaska? Chua and Perkins are two of the best stretch bigs in the league and they could be a great fit beside Abu Tratter and Ebona. Remember that there are rumors in the past that Vic Manuel was the one who was pushing for a trade. If that happens again, I think getting a Chua or a Perkins will work very well.

MAGNOLIA HOTSHOTS
Magnolia really struggled this season. Their defense catch-up at the latter part of the elimination round and they ended up as the 2nd best in limiting Points in the Paint and Defensive rating. Unfortunately, their offense lagged behind as expected.

Their three-point scoring remained to be a weak spot as they ended up as the 3rd worst three-point scoring team.

Now, the minutes' distribution for the Hotshots is very interesting. Ian Sangalang, Jackson Corpuz and Rafi Reavis are now the main rotation in their frontline. The biggest need there is a stretch option. Fortunately, they found a rookie stretch big in Aris Dionisio who shot 50% from beyond the arc. Unfortunately, he was not given enough minutes in his first tournament.

So, it is pretty obvious then what Magnolia should look for. Especially if we consider the age of Rafi Reavis and Marc Pingris. They need a bigman. If possible, a bigman who can shot from beyond the arc.
