2020 PBA Draft News! A 6'10 center is coming to PBA!

I
am telling you, the upcoming PBA draft will be a historic one, not only because of the players at the top, but also its depth.

And you will see that with the current set of amateurs that declared to the media that they are joining the draft.

So, what we will do now for our blog is to give our draft range for each player. At what range of picks do we expect that player to be grabbed in the draft?

By the way, I will not be able to cover every declaration. So, I will focus on the prospects that I expect to get more hype.

Max Duran-Hentschel
Son of a former UAAP women basketball player, Max did not really spend that much time in the amateur basketball scene. But the guy is 6'4 and with the minimal highlight videos that we saw, I think it was clear that he has good basketball sense and good touch around the basket.
Range - Round 4 and beyond

Ben Adamos
The size of this draft continues to grow as another 6'6 guy will join. Adamos was part of the All-Defensive team in the NCAA. He is fluid with his movement, opening up the possibility that he can play with another big in the PBA. I also like his court awareness and good rebounding instinct. Although, with the depth of this draft, I do not think he will be part of the first round.
Range - Top of Round 2

Jordan Heading / Andrei Caracut
The teammates in Alab Pilipinas will join the upcoming draft. Both plays as a traditional point guard. Although, Heading clearly has a higher ceiling because of his size and athleticism. Although Caracut has the advantage of being counted as a local and more familiar with the Philippine game.
Range - Top of Round 2

Tzaddy Rangel
As long as you are 6'6 and taller, you are an interesting option in the PBA draft. Such is the case for Rangel. Rangel is 6'7. Unfortunately, his role in Alab Pilipinas was basically a practice player. Nevertheless, size matters and his experience in a semi-pro team like Alab is valuable. I will not be shocked if he ends up with one of the SMC teams.
Range - Middle of Round 2

James Laput
There is no doubt that for this batch of declarations, Laput is the most interesting guy. He is 6'9, some are already reporting that he is 6'10, and we are confident that he will end up as the tallest and the longest option for this draft and that matters a lot.

We witnessed that last year, when Maurice Shaw, a much greener but older prospect, ended up as #2 choice in the regular draft.

He is not as strong as Shaw, but he is way more quicker and longer. He really needs a lot of experience and practice time to maximize his tools but there is no doubt that he should be considered at the first six pick.
