2020 PBA Mock Draft: Is NLEX about to challenge SMB as the TOP POWERHOUSE in the league?

Now that Jason Brickman and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser have declared for the upcoming PBA draft that is scheduled for March, 2021. I think, there is no question now that the upcoming batch of rookies will be very deep.

Add to that is the suggestion by the SBP to conduct a Gilas draft, which could be similar to last year, and we may be having a historical draft.

If you are not aware, here are the big names who already declared for the draft: Brickman, Joshua Munzon, Troy Rike, Jeremiah Gray, Alvin Pasaol and Larry Muyang.

Now, for the plan of the SBP, they are thinking about having a Gilas draft around those who were part of the Gilas team last November.

Now, how will you feel if you are one of the decision-maker of NLEX?

NLEX holds #3 and #4 pick for the upcoming draft. And if the Gilas draft will be similar to the 2019, NLEX could be drafting four in the upper half of the draft!

Here is one possibility. Out of all the choices that they can take from the Gilas team last November, Kobe Paras and Calvin Oftana are the best options if NLEX will pick from those who are with college teams that are related to the MVP group.

But, how about Justin Baltazar? It seems like coach Tab Baldwin has good plans for him. He wants to develop him as a wingman! If Gilas is high about him, they should try to secure his service.

Now, in the regular draft, let us assume that the top 2 picks will go for players who are connected to San Miguel Corporation. Those guys could be Jason Brickman and Jeremiah Gray.

So, NLEX could end up with a Joshua Munzon and Jamie Malonzo.

So, how about a quintet of Kiefer Ravena, Joshua Munzon, Kobe Paras, Jamie Malonzo and Justin Baltazar?

For me, the talent level of that group is near to the death five of San Miguel; Ross-Cabagnot-Lassiter-Santos-Fajardo.
