PBA Draft: Can Dwight Ramos skip UAAP and enter the upcoming draft?

One of the results of the 2020 FIBA Qualifying window last November was that great PBA coaches cannot stop talking about Dwight Ramos at this point.

Coach Yeng Guiao agreed with a statement by coach Jong Uichico that Dwight can skip UAAP now and enter the PBA.

Coach Yeng said Dwight is a smart player. Who plays the game deliberately and with no wasted effort. One thing that coach Yeng emphasized about Dwight's game was Dwight's ability to help his teammates maximized what they have.

For me, what I love about his game is the fact that he can impact the game even off the ball because of his three-point shooting and good cutting. I do not think he has a quick 1st step but he does have a quick release and high release point. That makes his jump shots hard to contest.

The biggest question now is, can he enter the PBA draft already?

I think the answer is Yes because he played for Gilas already and he is already 22 years old. By playing in Gilas, he doesn't need to comply with the requirement of playing in the D League.

The minimum age is 21.

Although, I do not think coach Tab Baldwin will agree with this, knowing that Dwight has not played for Ateneo and I am pretty sure he does not want any complication in getting the services of Dwight in the future for Gilas, just in case a team not affiliated with the MVP group will get Ramos.

  1. maybe Dwight can be included in the Gilas draft to avoid complications if SMC teams might get him
