PBA Trade Target Suggestion for Ginebra: Age is the problem of BGSM

Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel completed a dominant showing in the PBA bubble by winning the Finals via a 4-1 series score.

Ginebra's defense was elite all throughout the tournament and their offense was stable with Stanley Pringle, LA Tenorio and Scottie Thompson leading the way.

If there is truth to the chatterings that Greg Slaughter is about to return to the team, then we can say that their frontline will not be their biggest concern this offseason.

Their main weakness in the past was their three-point shooting but with the arrival of Prince Caperal, a capable stretch big and with the surprising improvement of Scottie Thompson, it was not that much of a problem.

Although, I am not still comfortable to believe that Caperal and Thompson will sustain it. And if we look at the roster, I think the ages of Jeff Chan, LA Tenorio and Joe Devance stand out.

Losing Devance to retirement may not be that huge of a problem because of Caperal, Art Dela Cruz and Arvin Tolentino.

Losing Chan and Tenorio could be bigger deals. Even if Jerrick Balanza and Kent Salado are already there, I think it will be good prudence for Ginebra to try and look for a young point guard and a young wing man.

Fortunately, they have a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft. But if they are looking for a proven veteran, Northport may have some interesting options to offer.

What about Kevin Ferrer's return to Ginebra? The guy has proven himself as a legit 3-and-D in the league.
