PBA Trade Rumors: I thought Greg Slaughter is returning to Ginebra?

Early this January, we heard from the media that Greg Slaughter and the management of Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel is about to discuss the possible return of Greg to Ginebra.

That is after Greg Slaughter wrote an apology in his Instagram account.

Three weeks after, we have not heard a proper update about the negotiation that happened. If Greg is returning, why have we not heard about a new contract for the giant?

Suspicions are growing now that the return of Greg Slaughter to Ginebra may not become a reality in the future.

Is there a chance that coach Al Francis Chua did not accept the explanation of Greg for suddenly deciding to go for a sabbatical?

I think this is a big possibility. If both camps were able to come to terms, we should have heard about it by now.

Connecting it to some new rumors, Greg may not be utilized anymore in getting Christian Standhardinger. According to one of the recent rumors, Standhardinger is already bound for Magnolia.

So, if Greg is not returning, what will be the best use of him for Ginebra?

I think the best path is still to find the right guy or package that they can trade him for. If they will not let him return, his trade value will just continue to diminish. They should avoid letting it reach a very low level.
